Game of Thrones

  • We still have to binge watch Season 7. At the moment it's on a USB drive but as the "Smart" TV isn't to bright on those (Its player can crash) I'll transfer it to the media server now I have the space, ready to watch before Season 8 is available on downloads. Don't want ad breaks.

History is much like an Endless Waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever.

  • It's good, enjoy Heero!

Although I am looking forward to GoT's return, things are intense for me at the moment, so I might delay watching it until later on in the year when I can enjoy it.

  • Just seen the 1st ep of Season 8.:)

A set-up episode, but a good one. There's never a bad GoT ep.

After the split-up of all the characters in the 1st season, they're all back together again, well, those that survived. And that in itself creates more than enough tensions and drama without adding in the whitewalkers.

I wasn't intending to watch this season until later in the year, as my time is very limited at the moment, but as news about GoT episodes gets spread like wildfirea all over the internet, I decided to watch each episode immediately.

Five more episodes to go with the final ep airing in the early hours of the 20th May. Try and watch that as soon as it comes out, as the net will be full of spoilers about who got the iron throne, assuming someone does get it...

You'd better walk around with a bucket on your head then for the next six weeks.8o

Great start to the season , what a fantastic piece of TV , makes the other dross served up nightly look what it is , CRAP!

My thoughts exactly. Just shows what can be done when some effort and a ton of cash is thrown at something.

  • Bit of a season 7 spoiler in the paper today, we're interested see how the schemer Lord Baelish gets his. Something of a stalwart. Now I've sorted out the media servers and larger drive on the PC we can get down to actually watching this.

Unless it's the BBC that can make a pig's ear out of any silk purse.

I'm saying nothing, but you shouldn't have read any GoT stuff as you're still a season behind. Even the bloody BBC front page is filled with daily stories on GoT now, which is why I've decided to watch it "live."

And remember Digital bloody Spy and the Express online are TERRIBLE with spoilers. Avoid at all costs.

Believe me , Digital spy does not take up any of my time , the fuckwits forum.

  • It was my primary internet home for years, until I tried to get members for here and they banned me.;( ANyway, back to GoT.

  • After two very good set up episodes, I watched ep3 in the early hours last night and very good it was too.

We're down to the final stages of the show now. Three eps left and then that's it.

    Brilliant, brilliant tv.:)

  • Full story on link. If it's as well made as GOT and big budget should be a belter.

  • Interesting info about the new prequel series, thanks.

Managed to watch ep 5 of GoT last night and it was excellent. I wasn't so keen on last week's episode (no4) as it was all filmed in the dark, but yesterday's ep was very satisfying indeed.

    Last ever ep next week.

  • Well the story is over and I am mightily disappointed , I will give no spoilers but this last series was far , far, too rushed , the last episode left so many questions unanswered it bordered on farce!

  • Just seen the last episode and I really enjoyed it. I didn't think it left any answered questions at all and it all seemed to be wrapped up "nicely", if it can be phrased like that. But I agree that the last series seem rushed. Major characters like Cersei needed far more screen time than they actually got.

  • Keeping our ears covered and eyes shut. Still need to watch season 7.

I've had to re-encode series 7 as the media server PC was having to transcode the mp4 files on the fly for the smart TV and it was stuttering. Now all mkv files ready to binge on.:) Then we can see about getting Series 8. We don't have Sky Atlantic as we're VM customers but the fast Broadband makes up for it.

  • For me, the modern age of tv, started when ntl made broadband available in my area around 2003/2004 and I've never looked back since. The only problem is, that also coincided with what turned out to be a total and permanent change in my personal circumstances which meant I rarely had the time to watch anything. So, I have a "few" things on the boiler for the future.

  • Now have season 8 (1080P) stashed on the PC for later binge viewing.:) Need to add the episode titles as except for E01 they're missing.

ntl made broadband available in my area around 2003/2004

We had cable TV from NTL when it first came about: Analog and 40 channels. When they went digital we had the Pace 4000 STB that also gave 256K "broadband" Since then VM have steadily upped the speed so we're now on 70Mbs down and about 5.5 Mbs up with an SH1 (modem mode). Buffalo air station nfinity router. Very solid. Download above sat right on the money.

  • Many fans are complaining that the last 2 episodes were rushed. The author seems to be hinting at other endings for the books.

There, in a mauve light of drifted lupins,

They hung in the cupped hands of mountains

Made of tingling atoms.- Ted Hughes
