By doing this, some of our tv history is getting eliminated and that's what I don't like.

Hardly a surprise with political correctness infesting every aspect of that broadcasters output. Even their interpretation of HG Welles War of the Worlds is stuffed full of it.
I see the BBC are redoing War Of The Worlds, can it be any worse than the Tom Cruise crap
If they make it politically correct the aliens will be gender free and handicapprd
I watched the BBC's new version of 'War of the Worlds' last week. I was expecting it to be good, but it was old fashioned and generally boring. Not the best programme ever made - if you haven't seen it, you are not missing anything worthwhile.
I looked at it, most of the programmes are on Drams or ITV3 for free
That's right, which is why I suspect that ITV3 and ITV4 will be in line for the chop before long.
As Horizon has pointed out, the channels we have been watching for many years now will be closed down over time in favour of streaming services such as Britbox and Disney+.

Must have been the same as the remake movie with Tom Cruise, dreadful
So much for it being BritBox, more like censor box. It Ain’t Half Hot Mum won't be on the service either and I don't think anyone could ever consider that offensive.
Agreed, Horizon. All this political correctness is childish and a very unintelligent means of 'converting' people to this bland world that the woke people are trying to inflict on us all. They won't achieve anything. It will just make people more determined to resist this nonsense.
Why do some sections of the population always overdo it? I hope that this snowflake period will come to an end soon and we can have our programmes back, unadulterated.
Britbox has launched on Fire tv. Just installing it on my firetv stick now.
"BritBox 'struggles to keep viewers' after 30-day free trial with only 380,000 estimated to be paying £5.99 a month for BBC and ITV's streaming service"
It's not surprising, as most of the material is archive programming, likely to appeal to UKTV viewers. However, as original programming not available elsewhere gets added, the service will gain increased popularity.
Britbox will not be making an appearance on either Sky or Virgin. That's not a good sign!

Many BritBox UK users have complained about the service's lack of availability on devices that allow viewers to watch on their main TV sets.
It's currently mid-way through a roll-out on smart TVs that support Freeview Play, but Sky and Virgin have said they won't be adding the service. Last week, BritBox UK was added to Amazon Fire TV.

Perhaps a "few" people have a found a way to watch it and not pay for it at all and that's why its struggling. Not that I know anything about that of course...

Looks like they've already decided the fate of the service and they may well be correct.

I have a neighbour who openly boasts about having Netflix, Amazon Prime, and another for free
Channel 4 is making a host of programmes available to Britbox in April.
Seems to me the Acorn TV is a better buy than Britbox.

Like its closest competitor BritBox, Acorn TV offers a wide range of British-made programming. But unlike BritBox which is is focused on the greatest hits from the archives of the BBC and ITV, Acorn has a much greater emphasis on original content with dramas such as the Emmy-nominated mystery series Queens of Mystery, London Kills, and the revival of the Ashley Jensen-starring Agatha Raisin.
We are sticking with what we can already watch on ITV3 and Drama, a lot of what is on Britbox. I think we had a lucky escape by not being able to log into it

I had a look on Acorn when it first appeared on my fire tv stick last month and there isn't much on there. So, Britbox is probably the better bet.

I agree. What is more, Britbox is to start adding original programming shortly.
Britbox is going global. Seems they mean business.

BBC Studios and ITV have revealed plans to roll out their joint venture SVoD service BritBox globally, which could see the streaming platform expanding to up to 25 countries worldwide.
Building upon the success of the service in the US and Canada, where it recently hit one million subscribers, as well as the UK, where it launched in November 2019, BritBox will seek to broaden its global footprint across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America and Africa. As previously announced, BritBox will also be launching in Australia later in 2020.
I just wish they had a better name. I'm not that keen on the term Brits, but as long as they have good shows, they should do okay.
