  • As the police continue to stand idly by as these , to quote C4 leftie John Snow " never seen so many white people in one place " middle class scumbags cause traffic havoc in London , can anyone believe others would of been treated this way?

Perhaps they have been told to go easy as the luvvies kin are on these protests , perhaps Boris Johnson had a point with his water cannons , they would certainly smell better!

These loons want us to ban carbon emissions , become vegan , stop travelling unless using solar power or sails , presumably working isn't something most of them ever aspire to do?

  • When I worked in The City it was always May Day when the nutters would come and clog up the roads and try to get into the buildings of whatever company was on their shit list for that particular year. One year, the protestors were handing out leaflets on London Bridge and they contained razor blades in them...

As has always been proven in the past and I bet this is no different, most of the younger members are sons and daughters of politicians, bankers, doctors etc. They're just going through their "phase" which means everyone else has to suffer as a result why this elite-to-be has its tantrum.

  • No doubt these "protesters" have expensive mobiles made in polluting China, designer clothes that they discard after wearing once, expensive trainers made in some tropical hell hole by slave labour, etc, etc.

And they never address the elephant in the room: Uncontrolled population growth that is the underlying problem facing the planet.

History is much like an Endless Waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever.

  • This is climate warming, right? To save the planet? For whom? Jerks like this?

The data is inconclusive. What is conclusive is that if anyone questions the data, even eminent scientists, they are treated as a pariah by their peer group.. With peer groups like that who needs enemies?

Most of us know, accept and have achieved a lighter footprint on this planet and I'm sure that trend will continue. But it will be self-defeating if we are headed towards a Soylent Green lifestyle, which is where those protesting jerks clogging up cities would lead this world if they had their way.

I'm sure that the world will eventually find a way to get countries like China to adopt better environmental manners towards mankind. But it won;'t be achieved by these protesting turds on city streets.

What we need is better education, with more people going into science and engineering rather than media, advertising, law and sociology

Meanwhile, I’d like to see a tougher way of dealing with the immediate problem in our cities. Because I loathe and despise these people who spend too much time looking for issues to protest about. I particularly hate the effortlessness with which they switch to whatever is the hate & protest flavour of the week. The awful thing is, I don't think they're faking it. If you listen to what they are hating or protesting about, whatever it is, they sound sincere and committed. But that’s the problem; they are “living the lie” and they need their heads examined.

Maybe what these misguided rabble-rousing nuisances need is some places where they can congregate and have a hate & protest session lasting for several hours. Blank protest boards and coloured crayons will be supplied. TV cameras laid on. Jon Snow of Channel 4 News can be there to interview them on whatever it is they are hating or protesting about and, as he would say, with his customary sub-dementia insight and depth of analysis. We can have national hate & protest days. We can also have multi hate & protest days, where of 2 or more hater-protester factions can occupy designated Public Hate & Protest arenas to air their differences of opinion, in other words, assault one another. It could be sponsored by all manner of corporations, eg Kitchen Devils, Guinness and Boots (knives, booze and medicine). This will make exciting television, encouraging more haters and protesters to climb aboard. There will be NHS A&E tents in the hate & protest arenas. It will be a very sub-standard NHS service (I know, hard to imagine). The ultimate goal will be to wear out the haters and protesters physically and mentally. There will be police-operated security-detention warehouses for those who have become too excited and need 24 or 48 hours to wind down. Biscuits and water will be supplied, some of the water supplied, where necessary, through strong pressure hoses. These hyper-haters & protesters will be identified and photographed so that the police can build up a dossier of H&P participators. It might be worth imposing a legal rationing on the number of H&P events they can attend per arum before being "sectioned" in a H&P treatment-correction centre, where gentle lobotomising will be on the treatment list. Then they can go back to work or, in many cases, back to university to continue their studies of media or sociology or sports management or whatever it is that originally captured their lamebrain thoughts of how they can contribute to a better world.

  • They are all work, soap and water shy wasters all of them.

Young boys in the park jumpers for goalpost that's what footballs all about isn't it.

  • They are all work, soap and water shy wasters all of them.

Well in fact most of them are educated middle class rich bastards who can afford not to work. Champagne Socialists and brainwased Millenials. Then you get Emma Thompson, flies 5400 miles in a jet, leaving a gigantic carbon footprint to protest about peoples carbon footprint. Such Hypocrisy.

They also talk bollox, one of them was saying "of we believe i n non violent protest, like th Suffragettes". Shes obviously never read a non lefty no nfeminist history of Suffragettes, they were basically a bunch of terrorists, for example; they tried to assassinate the Prime Minister.

They had an active campaign of actively destroying property. They set letter boxes on fire, smashed shop windows, cut telephone wires, and burned buildings to the ground (over 200 buildings destroyed). They targeted buildings dominated by men. Golf courses that forbade women, in particular, would be dug up, with slogans graffitied across the greens and buildings set aflame. They nearly killed 12 men when they bombed a cottage that belonged to politician Lloyd George. George was an outspoken advocate of women’s rights—but the Suffragettes didn’t feel like he was doing enough. “He is always betraying us!” one Suffragette complained. She justified bombing his cottage, saying she believed it would “wake him up.”

They vandalised works of art, they were trained in how to kill a man with a hatpin (after an american woman was tried for doing it in USA), one manipulated the law to have her husband jailed , just to make a point. They were nothing less than terrorists.

  • Don't you just love Emma Thompson , do as I say not as I do , what a shit house!

Oh she a typical champagne socialst 'celeb'. cut from the same cloth as Lilly Allen, Bob Geldof, Russel Brand, Rita Ora and Danny Dyer. Air headed z listers jumping on bandwagons,

  • I guess it just takes one lamebrain protester's remark to entirely justify extending backwards by 106 years, to draw a similarity between the mentality of climate protesters and suffragette protesters who attempted to blow up Lloyd George's house to capture his full attention.

I think by now we can all agree that protesters are well able to turn a righteous quest into a stupid or at questionable one, not least the difficulty of justifying even striving to save this planet for such ignoramuses.

Has anyone on this forum wondered what these pointless people think can be done to save the global climate? God forbid the question should be asked of the protesters by any TV reporter. One thing is for sure, the young people are the least likely to make a creative or scientific contribution to saving this planet other than a future of eternal environmental treading-on-eggs austerity. Not that the scientists have any ideas other than to pollute the atmosphere by incessantly jetting off to attend environmental conferences.

The other point here is they attack the UK because its a soft target, despite being one of the least pulluters of the western world. The countries at the top of the list include China, Russia, USA, India and Japan. I note they dont all go trailing over to Bejing and stage these protests, the Chinese would soon clear them, I point to Tianamen Square as an example. Putin as well would soon send the armed riot troops in.

  • The other point here is the bible of this shower is Agenda 30, the next phase of Agenda 21, the UN trojan horse plan to create world marxism under the pretence of 'saving the planet'agenda21.jpgce of climate protection

  • The police need to start billing these fuckers for the cost of what it takes to move them on.

Young boys in the park jumpers for goalpost that's what footballs all about isn't it.

  • Did you see the mess these "eco warriors" leave? One use plastic water bottles, take away plastic and pizza trays everywhere. Do as I say, not as I do. Bloody hypocrites.

In reality they are just attention seeking wasters, what they are doing wont change anything as most people recognise them for what they are and either ignore them or just get annoyed at the mess and trouble they cause and just want them gone and dont give a fuck at what they are supposed to be protesting about.

  • The Friday strike by school children was the biggest joke. It takes nearly half an hour to get past our local highly rated Catholic school at 'picking up time', and it's on the main road between our small town and the next biggest town. There have been numerous road accidents due to the volume of traffic all trying to get past the double parked vehicles, with cars pulling out willy nilly once they have picked up their passengers.

Several times I have seen cars just stop in the middle of the road to wait for kids to get in or out of the car, because they just couldn't get parked close enough to the school entrance.

A walking bus would be a godsend in our area.

I suppose the argument is that if everyone in the West did something about climate change (whatever that something is that can be proved makes a significant difference - some bloody hope of that) then the rogue countries can be persuaded or forced to do that same something (some bloody hope of that too).

It's so tempting to say man-made climate change is all bullshit. And so easy to do so when the information is so fuzzy and un-quantified and there are no known studies being conducted or planned to find a way of combating or reversing or nullifying a deterioration that is a hotpotch of variables of indeterminate importance.

I'm getting sooooo tired of these "something must be done" protests, whether it's poverty, homelessness, gig economy, education, sex inequality, physical health, mental health, terrorism, racism, knifing, child abuse, etc etc. The protests have now become an agglomeration of "I'm as mad as hell and I ain't gonna take it anymore" and turned into a never-ending traffic jamming street party attended by people who are unable or don't need to or aren't ready to work for a living. -

yes, thers a school inLincoln, on the main A15 drag out of town south. One of the busiest roads in Lincoln in the rush hour. They built a 'car park' in the school but its pathetic, the result is cars parked both sides of the road and traffic queues half a mile in each direction.

Interstingly/ thers a GATSO at this location, its only ever urned on the first week of a school holiday. Now if these cameras wer et odo with raod safety, would it not make more sense to turn it on the first week of every half term. claerly, the camera is positioned to catch people who can drive down the hill when theres no traffic jam.

  • I'll state the obvious, but it is definitely non-PC. Reduce the human population! It would solve many problems.

  • How Extinction Rebellion climate change zealots - including a baronet's Cambridge-educated granddaughter - are paid £400 a week to bring mayhem to our streets

Extinction Rebellion is paying activists up to £400 a week to lead the protests that have brought chaos to the streets of Britain, documents seen by The Mail on Sunday reveal.

Protesters have received payments totalling more than £70,000 in four months alone.

But the eco-protest group privately fears it could face a six-figure tax bill if the money, which is given as expenses, is deemed to be payment for work done on XR's behalf.

We've mentioned Extinction Rebellion in the climate change thread, but I just found this thread and after reading this story, I don't think this group is really interested in climate change or any other green issue.

Just to bring the thread up to date for those reading this thread in the future, this group has paralysed London's streets over the last week with their antics and they still have another week of "protests" to go. They seem to have a thing for planes, in particular. One of their people got on top of a plane this week and last month, another of their number was charged with plotting to bring Heathrow to a standstill with drones. I guess they never go on foreign holidays using planes...

As I said earlier in the year on this thread about these so called protestors being the sons and daughters off the elite, I wasn't too far off the mark, but when did protesters get paid a wage?8| And as they're doing a "job" they should be taxed as the article says and be billed for all the damage done and the total waste of police time, not that the police have done much, as usual.

About time this group follows the lead of the name of their group and become extinct themselves, but as their leader was on Question Time last night, I fear they've barely started, now that they're getting serious publicity.X/

  • Did you also read that the police service was run off it's feet shipping in vegan meals for htos in custody

They should set up pop up courts to process them quickly and avoid the need for custody, and hit them with heavy fines

If these young people from Extinction Rebellion are a fair representation of a world of people worth saving, frankly, I'd rather not bother, I don't see the point.

The claim is that the fashion industry is the biggest contributor to climate change

At least Posh Spice will be able to claim that she has now actually achieved something :)
