  • The Scottish National socialist party ( SNP ) is reminiscent of the German National Socialists. The leader adopts the same policy of finding a group and vilifying them to the extent that they are hate figures. The English are the SNP's group to hate and unfortunately Sturgeon's Gestapo enforces that hate among their Intellectually - challenged followers.

  • Her record in running Scotland is abismal. Every thing she touches turns bad. it appears that her softly approach to drugs is another failure.

Shocking figures reveal 850 Scots babies born with drug and booze addictions .. This is shocking and she deserves to go NOW.

It is shocking, but to be fair to her, that's not her fault. There is a specfic problem with addiction in some parts of the country and places like Glasgow hae always been particulary bad for this sort of thing, long before Salmond or Sturgeon ever came on the scene.

Ah Horizon, But the druggie problem is increasing at an alarming rate, not just in Glasgow but rapidly spreading to other smaller places as well. Sturgeon even wants "Shoot up rooms" so that Junkies can break the law and inject themselves in private. The whole drugs scene is taking over everywhere and it's down to failure of leadership in the Scottish Assembly. They are turning decency and criminal behaviour on it's head. Sturgeons term in office has been disasterous for Scotland, not just about drugs but almost everything she touches.

I have to say you guys keep voting them into power.

History is much like an Endless Waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever.

Taking drugs isnt against the law. How can they be breaking the law if they are not actually breaking any laws? reading some of your rants i sometimes wonder what it is you are smoking.

Just telling the truth, that's all. I know you don't like it, but there it is.

  • I think there is a bit of a quandary about drugs abusers. i dont do it myself but i can understand what drives some people to think that obliterating the world they live in is better than living in the reality of the hell hole this country is descending into. but the shit hole that britain is becoming is another topic.

the quandary I mean is the one about providing needles and stuff like that. providing clean needles is a relatively cheap way of preventing drugs users from getting hepatitis and other infections from dirty needles. how much does it cost the nhs to treat somebody with hepatitis? I dont know but i would bet its a lot more expensive than the cost of a few needles here and there. drugs fuel crime. thats a fact. but if you want to tackle the crime you have to tackle the reason why people use them. Give people something worth living for and enough of them would accept the rehab programmes and get clean. Cut the number of users and cut the profits to the dealers. make dealing drugs unprofitable and they will stop doing it.

Just telling the truth, that's all. I know you don't like it, but there it is.

  • If you want to understand drug abuse then you need to start with big pharma like Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson , Bayer and my favourite Glaxosmithkline. ;) Drugs will always exist in one form or another and Alcohol and tobacco are two of biggest used drugs in the country. We all need escapism from time to time and there is nothing wrong with alternative realities. We push for VR which is no different from an acid trip depending on what is on the screen. It's not only escapism but entertainment or it could even be soul searching or a religious ceremony.

Giving junkies a clinical form of Heroin is a good move. They have had a lot of success with this in Holland and folk get their fix in the morning and then they go off to work for the day and get another fix on the way home if they need it. They are not walking around the streets like a zombie or shoplifting. All the negative effects and problems arise through the criminality of drugs and the crap they mix in with it.

FFS we get Heroin addicts addicted to Methadone as way to try and get them off Heroin so they then instead get addicted to the Methadone which is harder to get off than Heroin hence why so many slip back to the old ways. It's not like they want to be addicted. What's the difference.....one is clinically made and the addiction can be monitored. At the same time keep big pharma employed and money feeding those criminals instead. So all we are doing is swapping dealers and not dealing with the problems of society that leads to folk wanting some form of escapism whether that is a Heroin addiction, Alcohol or an Internet addiction. Interestingly the Internet has a lot in common with Cocaine. It creeps up on you and before you know it we have a whole nation addicted to their mobile phones and social media. There's the Dopamine hit along with the social media dealer handing out the rewards in return for you paying with your soul as you feed them more data. Heroin addition is the least of our problems. Why else do you think the worlds gone so nuts.

  • Escapism. that is the word i picked out of your message above. Thats what it is. people need to escape from the horrible world our politicians have created for us. politicians are addicts too. addicted to power. my other half used to describe them as pissed with power. they get off on the control they can exert over peoples lives, well that and the money they make out of us. you could say that everything is an addiction. people who go to football every week live for saturday afternoon and their sport fix. where does it end? we are all on here arent we? we know what we are doing and it cant be good for us but we do it all the same. I use social media as an escape from the drudge of my life of getting up, going to work, coming home and then starting on cleaning, cooking, washing and ironing. life is relentless and it wears you down. you need an escape. but my life is relatively comfortable compared to many and i count my blessings for that. I have a daughter to bring up and i dedicate myself to that. making sure she is alright is my mission. and so I go on. but talking on forums is my escape when i finally get to sit down and relax. Am i addicted? probably if you asked some scientist. but for those worse off that doesnt do it. they turn to drugs and i feel sorry for them. I think society should do more for them or at least not put them where they are in the first place.

Just telling the truth, that's all. I know you don't like it, but there it is.

  • Pandering to Junkies and encouraging them to take class A drugs is counter productive, so is defending them. The aim should be to get them off illegal substances. This can be done by giving junkies a spell in isolation where there are no drugs available. A couple or so months of Cold Turkey would soon make them realize that their choosing to contaminate their bodies with those drugs was a terrible idea.

  • The best way to avoid addiction to drugs is to not take them in the first place, once you start its the slippery slope.

Exactly, All those junkies were Volunteers..

Sturgeon is doing nothing to stop Junkies volunteering.

I suppose she thinks that if the whole population become Junkies , she will have no opposition to her dictatorship and everybody will vote for YES if there was to be Indyref 2/3/4/5. :D :D :D :D :D

  • When something becomes obsessive it's then an addiction and even more so when it prioritizes other things one should be doing and /or it starts to affect others around you and that includes abusing others online. There's two kinds of addiction....physical and mental and often the two play together hand in hand. The mental addiction or habit for another term is often harder to resist than the physical. A drug can either be a physical substance or a mental substance. What it all boils down to at the end of the day is a form of mental illness. Not being able to compartmentalise and separate things into an order to achieve an end goal that is beneficial and positive rather than negative and destructive due to the chemical formula in our brain. We are a living self contained biological pharmacy and our body provides what we need as and when we need it. Well...that's how it's supposed to work but it may need a helping hand from time to time.

Problems only arise when it becomes obsessive. We could label junkies as having an obsessive compulsory disorder along with a physical need. They can't physically just stop in the same way as an alcoholic can't or someone that is coming off long term use of painkillers or anti depressants. It would be detrimental to ones health to do so and in some cases, especially alcoholism it could kill you so one needs to wean themselves off. Even then the mental battle is there. Take ex smokers for example they can still crave a cigarette many years after giving up so the temptation is always there. Once an addict always an addict but it gets easier to resist one day at a time.

More often than not an addict will replace one addiction with another addiction. Exercise is a popular alternative with an Endorphin hit. Personally I prefer a Dopamine hit to Endorphin. I think my brain does not naturally produce enough so that gets me down and depressed at times and then I get snappy. When we have a chemical imbalance we seek something to either bring balance or replace it in the same way some of us use caffeine or sugar to perk us up. Some of us will choose to go to a dealer and use illegal drugs and some of us will choose to go to a doctor and use prescription drugs. All chemical forms of what we can get naturally. And some of will prefer the natural remedies whether that's herbal or dietary which is where the chemical drugs are developed from for profit.

  • Such ignorance. What about when the NHS kill people. Every drug has adverse side affects, risks and contraindications and many have a risk of dependency especially when it comes to Analgesics and Hypnotics. Analgesics being pain medication and Hypnotics being tranquillizers (sleeping tablets). Uppers and Downers. The only difference between street drugs and pharmaceuticals is that one is made in controlled conditions so is clean and has a precise mix of chemical compounds. Also the dosage given is controlled and monitored which is what they want to do in Scotland with Heroin addicts. Give them a pharmaceutical version of Heroin, a Morphine based analgesic.

Fentanyl which is also prescribed legally as well as used illegally is from the same family. It all comes from Opium poppy's. FYI Codeine is also from the same family only weaker. You can get 12.5 mg of that in Nurofen Plus over the counter but any more than that is a controlled drug like for example Oxycontin who's street name is hill billy Heroin and if an addict can't get that they will settle for large dose of Dihydrocodeine. I cant take that any more and have to be careful with Codeine as it plays up on my stomach so there is a risk of stomach ulcers or even internal bleeding so I prefer Codeine Phosphate if I can't get Tramadol as the Phosphate coating plays better on my stomach at absorbing the Codeine. I had a bad Codeine addiction after I broke my femur twice. All medically supplied and then I went onto Tramadol. We have more people addicted to Pharmaceuticals in this country than we do street drugs. It's big business. I don't include Cannabis in that because it's a herb as is Wild Lettuce which makes a good alternative to Opium. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it LOL

Shall we move onto Anti Depressants (SSRIs) that replenish the Serotonin in your brain. You can take St Johns Wart which is where drugs like Sertraline come from hence the danger of not mixing the two. Nasty drugs SSRIs are and mostly the patient is a guinea pig as the doc prescribes different drugs over a number of months using trial and error methods to see if or what works and what does not. Anti cholesterols (Simvastatin) are similar. Bloody nasty things handed out like sweets with heavy side effects slowly killing patients. Improve your diet and go to gym. It's a much better treatment. Same with type 2 diabetes. No need for pills.

I could go on. Yes I have taken many street drugs and I have taken many pharmaceutical drugs and both are equally as bad or as good as each other and sometimes necessary or even life saving. Ketamine is another one. I have had that as a street drug, Stolen in liquid form from a vets and cooked up into into a white powder similar to Cocaine to snort. I have also had it injected into me by paramedics who wanted me anaesthetized so they could take control of the situation at the scene of a motor accident as I was in crazy pain so needed putting asleep and having them take over my breathing etc. Best trip I have ever had that was. Thank you NHS. I then woke up in A&E with a finger up my backside LOL I love being anaesthetized that moment when on the operating table and they ask you to count to 10. Street Ket is a bit like Ecstasy (MDMA) if not injected in liquid form and snorted as a powder. Talking about Cocaine what do you think your dentist uses to numb your mouth. Where do you think Lignocaine comes from.

See there's not much difference between the illegal drugs and legal drugs. It's a complex issue drug taking and neither is good or bad or right or wrong. It's about prescribing what what one either wants or needs whether you self prescribe or someone else prescribes it. It's a bit like do you fancy eating pizza today or chicken curry or maybe you would prefer a Port and Brandy.

  • No no no ---Don't prescribe junkies alternative addictive drugs, that's the wrong way to cure those people. They need to be completely free of addictive substances. They need to be made acutely aware of the effects of their volunteering to shoot up God knows what illegal substances into their blood stream. Awareness comes with realisation and the best realisation is to go Cold Turkey for a few weeks in a secure establishment. Not the most pleasant experience but the best way to bring home to the Junkies why their decision to take addictive illegal drugs was completely wrong.

  • Going cold turkey is dangerous and the body can go into shock and people can die. If they are to go cold turkey they are going to need to be given other drugs to help with the withdrawal and try and prevent the body going into shock. What's wrong with giving them a Morphine based supplement and weaning them off. Would you be happy if you had terminal cancer and doctors could not prescribe you Morphine because it's related to the same family as Heroin.

If we can take the business out of crime and into the pharmaceutical companies with a means of weaning them off then surely that is a good thing and other crimes like shoplifting will be reduced. Not only that but if they are getting a clean mix of chemicals they are not going to be walking around looking all scruffy or zombiefied and degrading society. Most of that comes from the other substances thrown into the mix to keep them addicted along with the varied doses of shit. Then there's the issue of needles being shared and getting left around on the streets.

They can happily get a job and get their life back on track while still addicted and not worry about going out thieving to subsidise the expense that the street dealers require. How else are they going to be able afford a £150 per day habit. Instead they can get their shot in the morning at the clinic, go to work and then get another shot on the way home. As long as they get a good enough dose to last the day before they start clucking they will be fine. Medical staff or ex addicts / support workers will be on hand to help with the doses and recommend on how they can go about reducing their dose. There's people in Holland all suited and booted working and if you looked at them you wouldn't even know they stopped off at the clinic for their shot of Morphine (clinical Heroin) in the morning on their way to work. The initial zombified rush only lasts a short while.
