Will Scotland leave the UK?

    8th largest that's as maybe, but a metropolis is isn't. Compared go southern cities Newcastle is anorexic. 300k population in 2022 4x that number of immigrants came to the UK.

    So, mate the one thing we ain't got is a metropolitan area.

    We don't even have any no go areas, quite tame up here really, too cold in winter for alot of our darker skinned population.

    But if there's no Scottish parliament, then there would be no chance that an independence movement could ever break off from the UK in the future....

    I support the Union, and the EU. But if Scotland wants to be independent. Then it has that right to be independent

    The people of Scotland have the right to choose to be in the UK, EU, or neither.

    Scotland voted to have devolution and has every right to have a devolved parliament. Nobody should get rid of devolution. Scotland earned the right to devolution. Nobody should take away devolution. Just because you do not like who Scotland votes for. That is not a reason to remove the Scottish Parliament. How would you feel if Germany or the USA got rid of the UK Parlaiment just because they did not like who we voted for? RESPECT SCOTLAND. LET SCOTLAND DECIDE WHETHER IT STAYS IN OR OUT.

    Having seen how the SNP Numpties in the Scottish assembly have totally ruined Scotland, most thinking people would baulk at giving them even more opportunity to waste Scotland's assets. As a proud Scot I would hate breaking up the UK. There's no need except for the "Snouts in the trough" MSP's who want to line their pockets at the tax payer's expense.

    Who wants to abolish devolution?

    The people who live in Scotla la land voted in the Scottish no policy party, your right they have a right to a devolved parliament, given to them by westminster the seat of power for the United Kingdom following the devolution vote in 1997. Ironically less than 20yrs after that vote they wanted and got an independence vote, they said NO, respect that.


    Germany and the USA are not part of the United Kingdom as such that statement us as much use as tits on a bull.

    We all respect Scotland just not the numpties currently with hands on the power there. With regards to letting Scotland decide whether it stays or not is a matter for the UK government, which atm says NO, but when Mr Del Monte gets the keys to No10 he may say YES.

    I don't understand the dichotomy of not wanting to be ruled by Westminster but quite happy to cede everything to Brussels. :S

    The SNP look a basket case at the moment & expect Labour to be the primary beneficiary at the next election any attempt to dismantle the Scottish parliament however would guarantee a resurgence in Scottish nationalism

    It would be a crazy idea

    Personally I like having a close neighbour we can generally beat at most sports

    The devolved parliament’s were the work of Tony Blair and New Labour. It has created a two tier government system in the non English parts of the union. England has one government and the regions get two which can be a blessing and a curse rolled into one.


    The Scottish get free university education and the Welsh get free prescriptions but they also get 20mph speed limits. The Irish are too busy falling out to be bothered about governing but they do have passion so that is something I suppose.

    Well, while these Scots nats types take chunks out of each other like cats in a sack, they will be opening the way for other political parties to gain ground in the General Election.


    It would be good to see the SNP representation in Westminster decimated after the election, but worry somewhat that this will just add to the number of seats won by Labour.
