Will Scotland leave the UK?

  • Have found out more on the new Homeland Political party in Scotland. They are an independence party who are Racist, Anti Semitic and with the same ideology as the National Front.. It will be very divisive and at a time when Scotland needs to heal from that Marxist Sturgeon's disastrous term in office, that's the last thing Scotland needs..

I certainly won't be voting for them

  • There must be "clear blue water" between political parties and opinions. This is what makes a country great. Wishy-washy - sit-on-the-fence politics destroys countries.

Look at our Sunak - he is exactly like a manager of Tesco's would perform. No principles, no values, no idea. This is a recipe for disaster.

  • I agree OB.. Not a lot of people bothered to turn up for Yousless's march.. Considering that the numbers included many with Palestinian flags and supporters, I doubt if there were more than a few hundred Scots present..

But does this signal the end of the stranglehold on Scottish domestic politics that the SNP has?

    I think not...

Celebrate it, Anticipate it, Yesterday's faded, Nothing can change it, Life's what you make it

  • But does this signal the end of the stranglehold on Scottish domestic politics that the SNP has?

I think it does , I think Labour will do very well out of the mess the SNP has created

Long term though there will the question of Scottish independence will always be there in the background

  • Its simple - has a Labour MP been asked if they will get rid of the fascist law? If so, what did they say?

We’ll see. Their subscriptions for membership have fallen so dramatically that they tried to cover it up, and that’s before Sturgeon stood down. They are in a much worse position now. Labour will scoop up the benefits at the next election.

So Scotland’s gain is a loss for the rest of us…

Yes it's not ideal.. We at least won't have The SNP running the country with their extreme L/W policies and extreme Wokery..... Labour is more to the right than the SNP was under the disgraced Sturgeon and now her idiotic puppet Hummin Yousless.

    The Voice of Reason

  • Its not whether SNP are wiped out - its to do with governance and their replacement returning to the values, rule of law 99% of us want.

Tell me: What difference does it make if Labour do not get rid of the fascist law Hundrum put on the books?

    NONE!!!!!

The Labour reps should be asked directly, by the MSM, "Will you get rid of the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act:

It looks to me that the public clamour for Scottish independence is waning.

I'm going to make a prediction here....

It looks like after the scandals with the "fishy" people (Salmond and Sturgeon) the Scots desire for separation has waned, but let me state what I think is an obvious, but totally overlooked point. Independence is happening anyway via divergence.

Take the issue in the news this week of smacking. Scotland has decided to go in a separate direction from the rest of the UK on this issue. Now, it may mean that the rest of the UK follows Scotland on banning smacking kids, or it may not, but either way, there is divergence. Now, times that by decades of new Scottish laws which are different from the rest of the UK and you have a de facto independent country. Perhaps not in our lifetimes, but at some point they will have diverged so far, that they are totally separate from the rest of the UK. And not a fishy person or scandal in sight.

  • I have this picture in my mind of the great Scots people, their reputation in our Armed Forces, including a noted history in the SAS. Their culture and traditions. The wearing of the Kilt, sporran, loud drums and bagpipes putting the fear of hell into anyone who threatens them.

When I was in the Army I witnessed and mixed it with some very, tough, fighting Scotsman. I remember one soldier - we were being inspected by a big Sergeant, a boxer, the soldier had a Celtic Scarffe draped on his locker - the sergeant went to remove it - the soldier said: "if yee move that scarfe I will break your fucking nose" - the sergeant did not move it. This is the firey, toughness I associate with Scottish people. I am not saying that guy was sensible.

Now we see Scotland as a fascist state "taking the knee" to a socialist goon - USELESS - who gains pleasure from removing the basic rights of the people.

The Scottish will get what they ask for.

I don’t think so, Horizon. The current arrangement simply lets Scotland take its own decisions where they do not impact adversely on the UK.

This separation of powers happens elsewhere as well - the various States of the US have a lot of independent discretion, but they are all subject to Federal law, which takes precedence. The system seems to work pretty well on the whole.

Is it simply a case of the current SNP leaders picking legislation to rankle or that isn't really an issue in order to make one.

The hate crime law, gender recognition all controversial but not consulted upon. Effective for a very small minority of the people they represent.

Did your parents have any children that lived.

Thats right - it almost seems deliberate provocation.
