Labour is promising to put 10,000 more police on the streets of England and Wales if it wins the election.

The party said it would fund additional "bobbies on the beat" by reversing Tory plans for cuts to capital gains tax.

At least we're getting some policy from the parties a bit bit now, although still no sign of manifestos.

I'm not sure if this is costed properly, but at least it's a "proper policy for a proper leader." Hang on, I've just come up with Corbyn's slogan against May's "strong and stable leadership!" :p

Diane Abbott says she "misspoke" when she got confused over the cost of Labour's pledge for 10,000 extra police officers for England and Wales.

Ms Abbott - the shadow home secretary - said it would cost £300,000 over four years before correcting herself to "about £80m", in an interview with LBC.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn later confirmed the policy would cost £300m.

Ms Abbott claimed she had got her facts right in other interviews and her credibility had not been damaged.

    Whoops!

Was she simply tired as she claimed, or is it simply the case that she doesn't know what she is talking about?

  • Diane Abbott is not the brightest .... she is both patronising and incoherent even when engaged in her favourite topics, e.g. Corbyn and anti-white men racism. The woman is
unaware of the irony. To the best of my knowledge, Corbyn is a 'white' male. Ergo the charade of her interview on police recruits is just more of the same ... blustering vacuity..
