Seems pointless making allegations against him now, now that he's left, but if stops him getting to the Lords, I'm all for it.

I bet it's all part and parcel of Johnson's petty determination to not grant him the peerage he should have
Johnson needs to think ahead, one day this may come back to bite him

Agreed. Apart from the discredit he's bought upon the role of the speaker.

I don't think he did, he maintained control of a rowdy hung Parliament. You can't criticise him for not allowing those who's view you support to bully him into submission
In any event it is precedent that the retiring Speaker gets a peerage
No, he was a pretentious, smug, nasty piece of works of the highest order. He turned the Commons into The John Bercow Show, rather than the debating chamber that it should be.
There have been multiple allegations against him even before this latest one and yet he got away scott free.

So was Micheal Martin, but it didn't stop him getting a peerage. And what about the Welsh bloke who was hand in glove with Charles
If the accusations against him are true, it's a shame, because I rather liked him, BUT, all MPs need to keep their hands to themselves.
I wonder what Mrs Bone thinks? (for those that don't know, Peter Bone always cited his wife in Commons debates)
If a By-Election does take place Labour will be all over it like a rash
Yep.
What do people think about the allegations? Does Bone have a right to a trial?
He's been found guilty by the Commons, but that's not a court of law.
IMHO If he thinks he has done nothing wrong and not been dealt with fairly he could ask a Civil Court if he can bring an action against his accusers , but not certain if he can or not.
Surrey police have arrested and released on bail a 60+ Yr old Conservative MP for alleged sexual offences.
I wonder what Nick Brown did.

It seems there is just something in some Conservative MP's DNA (or should that be trousers...) that makes them this way. We just keep getting these stories year after year, decade after decade.
I put it down to being imprisoned in boy's boarding schools when they were kids, that would be enough to send anyone loopy.
Some of these MPs just seem like nothing but wild, uncontrolled animals that are completely unable to keep it in their trousers.
I understand the thoughts, but he has done nothing except be accused so far. How about a jilted lover, a person with a grudge or similar.
The Conservative goose has already been cooked, so it's just another unnecessary distraction.

Like Horizon says, many parliamentarians are X public boarding school pupils.. Everybody knows what else those pupils learn at those schools .
No Mike please enlighten us 🙉🙈🙊

The young and vulnerable get buggered by the Head Boys. It’s where the ruling class pick up their taste for deviant behaviour.
There is a serious streak of amorality in some conservative MPs which doesn't seem to affect the other parties, so something is wrong somewhere.
But yes, in reply to CL, point taken. Innocent until proven otherwise.
Oddly, notva public school boy. The place of birth seems to indicate the son of a serving soldier of the time. Obviously i have no idea about hisceducation pre uni but military kids attaining high school age if the parents were stationed abroad had to go to boarding school as the military didnt have any high schools. If in UK they went to normal school or possibly private if parents were senior officers or rich.
Wellington College is a private boarding school, its website appears to be both sexes. Attendance at a boarding school does not indicate homosexual tendencies, his alleged rape could be either sex.
