The Union flag is to be hauled down from public buildings in Scotland under new orders from Nicola Sturgeon - who wants the Scottish Saltire to fly alone.
The SNP has ruled the red, white and blue banner should no longer be raised for the Queen’s birthday at dozens of public buildings.
It has been hoisted at official and heritage sites 15 days a year to mark royal birthdays and anniversaries.
But Nationalists have proposed rule change which will only allow it to be used only once a year, on Remembrance Day.
This would make the flag of the UK flown less than the gay pride flag which will be flown for four days a year.
Officials wanting to hoist the Union banner were warned they would need the First Minister’s permission to do so.
She lost the indy referndum but won't accept it. Very disrespectful to her sovereign. Off with her head
