Judgment Day. Deal or no deal.

  • If people don't vote it implies they are happy whatever the result. Better to spoil your ballot paper than not vote. Non-votes are ignored, but spoilt papers are counted. It would give a strong message if spoilt papers exceeded actual votes.

While it's true spoilt ballot papers get counted the reason they are spoilt is not recorded so it could be that someone marked the ballot paper in the incorrect way, maybe even chose more than one option or wrote on it that all politicians are corrupt incompetent arseholes, so we should be given the none of the above option as that would someway to show what voters really think of them.

  • The Tory party missed its opportunity when she blindsided her own Ministers and forced Chequers upon them. Naturally, the sycophants went along with Chequers while everyone else knew it was a loser. She has filled her Cabinet with Remainers who can do no wrong, no matter how undemocratic and disrespectful they are, while forcing out those who want a real Brexit.

She really has no sense of reality!

It's why I didn't want Boris as PM Fidget, because despite all the clowning around, I think he is a total weakling. If he was going to do something, then around Chequers would've been his time to make his move.

  • You may post that as many times as you wish Fidget and as I've have a hell of a day and I've got a whole night of it to come too, any distraction is most welcome!^^

I've played it many times, and it still makes me laugh, which is a bit of a rarity whenever Parliament is involved.

  • In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Theresa May made a momentous choice. After a day of acrimonious debate in her cabinet and inner circle, the prime minister decided that she was willing to take Britain out of the EU without a deal.

At Thursday’s European Council meeting in Brussels, EU diplomats wondered whether Mrs May was bluffing, but those close to the prime minister said if she cannot secure her Brexit deal she is determined the UK should embark on a no-deal exit.

Since announcing on Wednesday that she would ask EU leaders for a short extension to the bloc’s Article 50 process — to delay Brexit from March 29 to June 30 — people who have spoken to the prime minister said she is reconciled to the implications of what happens if the UK parliament continues to reject her withdrawal agreement.

“The mood has hardened on no deal,” said one person close to the prime minister. One Eurosceptic Conservative MP who met Mrs May on Wednesday night said: “She didn’t seem concerned about leaving with no deal.”

Unfortunately this is behind a paywall but I wonder how true this is?

Might we really be on our way at last?

  • It's no deal, or anarchy. They cannot deny the biggest electoral mandate in the history of the UK without causing huge consequences for Parliament, and the country.

Parliament voted in favour of the referendum.

Parliament voted in favour of invoking A50.

Both major parties stood on a manifesto to leave the EU.

Making a deliberate botch job of Brexit is not a valid reason to overturn it. If they are unable (or unwilling) to govern a sovereign independent nation then they should be replaced.

Listen to LBC today if you can stomach it , all you will get if remainer jihadists , one after another spouting their crap , this latest disgrace will only egg them on even more.

  • I voted remain. And I'm glad that I did! You speak of remainer Jihadits which I find rather amusing. But while you think of them as Jihadists you'll be pleased to know that one of the main contributers to the Brexit lobby group was a Saudi Arabian intelligence agent. Hmmm... Remainer Jiadists indeed....

Then why has she been trying and now got this extension?

I don't trust her one bit now.

All this lobbying and funding behind the scenes, should all be out on the open.

On the EU, I've always been pretty pro-EU, but there comes a time to call "time" and I voted to leave.

As I said in regards to May, I don't think there was any botching involved. She's been quoted as saying she sees this whole process as a damage limitation exercise, so from her point of view it's parliament who are botching things by not voting through her deal.

  • Brexit: Departure date pushed back by at least two weeks

Theresa May has been granted an extra two weeks to come up with a Brexit solution after talks with EU leaders.

The UK's departure date had originally been set for 29 March.

If Mrs May can get her withdrawal deal through Parliament next week, that date will be pushed back to 22 May to give time to pass the necessary legislation.

If the prime minister can't get the deal through, the UK will have to propose a way forward by 12 April for EU leaders to consider.

Here's the story from the Beeb just to give context to the latest goings on which is basically we're still in the EU...

With that attitude i never would of guessed , Lionheart ? , now that really is funny!^^

But did you accept the democratic result of the referendum which was the majority voted to leave even if it was a comparatively small majority, that's the important question. ;)

  • Well , I hope all those overwhelmingly white luvvie Londoners had a nice walk in their hometown yesterday , at least the weather was nice .

Reports today are that Mrs May is facing a coup and true to form , 2 of the 3 favourites to replace her are REMAINERS , yes , once again the Tories are hitting the stupid button.

Gove , Livingston or Hunt , on a temporary basis if May walks in exchange for MP's supporting her appalling deal.

  • I'd rather keep May and ditch the deal.

  • Brexit: Push for May's Brexit deal after quit pledge

Efforts to persuade MPs to back Theresa May's Brexit deal will continue on Thursday, a day after she promised to quit as PM if it was approved.

Her pledge brought some on-side, such as ex-foreign secretary Boris Johnson.

But challenges remain for the PM after Northern Ireland's DUP, who she relies on for support, said it would not back the deal because of the Irish backstop.

    It feels like ground-hog day.X/

I thought May's deal was dead. Bercow ruled that May couldn't bring it back to parliament, yet May is trying to have another vote on this tomorrow. With her announcement that she'll step down if her deal is passed, does that present the "material change" to events that Bercow wanted, to allow another vote again?

I thought he was clear on this. He said he would only allow another vote if there were material changes to the deal. May offering to step deal as a way to get the deal though, does not change the deal.

Will there be a third vote on the deal tomorrow? Place your bets at the great British casino, formerly known as parliament.
