  • Them Crazy Lefties

I thought I’d start a thread to contain a compendium of the ways in which the crazy left are trying to turn the world on its head. As a starter take a look at this video summarising a few choice nuggets of leftist madness. It would be funny if these were not true. Please feel free to post your own examples, the more the merrier, let’s make it a reference thread for warning of the perils of leftism.

  • This video explains why the left lost the UK General Election, it is very worrying that these people walk amongst us. Watch to the end it just keeps getting better.

  • And here them crazy lefties try to bring their cancel culture to the Yorkshire Tea company because the new Chancellor of the Exchequer uses the product.

  • A Hand Up Not A Hand Out

  • The leadership debates for the US democrats are exposing some bizarre policy proposals. Bernie Sanders want to legalise drug dealers.

  • I always smile when I see the Democrats described as "lefties".That would make Mrs T a "pinko"

But then anyone against hard right Trump could be from the centre

A Hand Up Not A Hand Out

  • present hard right government

It is not hard right. If it were you'd have got the knock at the door before now.

History is much like an Endless Waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever.

Certain ex West Indian guys who have the right to live here already have

  • Nice thread response to my take on the Brexit Follies (for want of a gentler term).

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

  • It's the weekend, so I thought we could all use a laugh. Here is a taste of what the world could be like if we let the Democratic Socialists run the world. I think I may be pushed to the very limit with this lot, good grief, enjoy...

  • Are you American by any chance, you seem obsessed with their politics?

Nope, I'm a Native Brit who looks outwards at what goes on around the world. Remember whatever happens in the US will arrive here sooner or later.

  • And he has a love for their chicken. Maybe he's really Colonel Sanders. Oh well it could be worse he could be Ronald McDonald. :D

I am partial to the occasional fast food treat, not a recommended lifestyle choice though.

There's nothing wrong with US chicken. The scare mongering about US food standards is quite astonishing.

Used to e the case, Not any more since we joined the EU plus the arrival of Trump

Qualify "scare mongering" and why it is so.

You will be marked on your homework, factual content and use of organically grown vegetables in a healthy and nutritious side salad.

I use my extensive field trips in the US as my anecdotal evidence. I have always found US food, even the fast variety to be superior to the offerings in the UK. I must have eaten whole fields of chlorinated chicken and growth hormone induced beef. The main problem with US food is there is too much of it and its too cheap, real first world problems.

  • Also, I'm not keen on being compared to Ben Elton. He was funny, but he's...... well.... he's got a "thingy" and I'm not at all keen on them.

I would much prefer to be likened to Samantha Bee. She's a dozen years older than me, 'tis true, but we have the same hair and I think we would have a good laugh together over a bottle or three of the very passable and not too pricey house red that wife and I enjoy in the little bar we frequent when we go to London to visit my family.

And I think she's kinda cute too.

  • You are Ben Eltonesque I wasn't trying to suggest you were male. I'm not keen on other mens' thingy's either so we have that in common. I'm not sure he ever used the fact that he had a thingy as part of his comedy or whether having one or not was relevant. If you are funny you are funny...simples.

Hmmmmm.... nice try, but no gold star yet. Lack of factual evidence of scare mongering.

    Consider:

Some US abattoirs and processing plants rely too much on chlorination because their other hygiene standards are so poor that they would be shut down in Europe. The process is also very good at removing odours and surface slime, meaning the meat can be passed off as fresh for much longer than it should be.

Chlorine isn’t toxic at the levels used in the washing process and doesn’t itself cause cancer. But studies have shown that the treatment can cause carcinogens such as semicarbazide and trihalomethanes to form in the poultry meat.

Hmmmm.... OK, you got me on that one. I dug a hole for myself with the nob gag.<slaps own wrist>. It's the sort of thing Elton would do as evidenced by the number of gags about Baldrick's thingy and turnips coming up in various episodes of Blackadder.

I can see I'm going to have to be careful with you.
