  • Watched Cry_Macho-(2021) earlier today. My gawd Clint Eastwood looks old now.....he is old! In his 90's now so quite amazing that he his still producing and acting in his films. Quite a nice little storyline this one but the ending felt a bit cut short and I expected more.

  • A real oldie: The Belles of St Trinians with Alistair Sim as headmistress Frinton and Joyce Grenfell as the hapless games mistress. Black and white, 4:3 format. Priceless.

History is much like an Endless Waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever.

  • United (2011) - IMDb
United: Directed by James Strong. With Dean Andrews, Kate Ashfield, Natalie Burt, David Calder. Based on the true story of Manchester United's legendary "Busby…

It tells the story of the Munich air disaster that killed 7 of the Busbies Babes Man Utd team.

Rather slow and heavily stylistic it focuses on the emotional side of events rather than the facts.

    Overall rather dreary and dull.

Celebrate it, Anticipate it, Yesterday's faded, Nothing can change it, Life's what you make it

  • (Carry on) Follow that camel. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061680/

Silly French Foreign Legion romp with Phil Silvers being Bilko and loads of innuendo about Lady Jane Ponsonby:

Can I punch your ticket. Can I check your porthole and is your accommodation satisfactory? ^^

Bernard Breslaw is a superb Arab chief and the great prophet "Mustapha Leak" that they worship.

  • The Italian Job.

Classic error in the garage where the back of a mini is jacked up but the actor says they're working on the differential which as everybody knows is in the front of a mini.

"You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off"

    Great film.

The supposed offices of the Italian traffic control is actually a building in the west of London which we used to go past on the way to my grans. IIRC it has(had) a large red three letter sign on it.

  • Better than a boob job 🤣🤣🤣

Do unto others as they would do unto you, then f**k off before the Police get there. :saint:

  • Mr Wing decided to get out an old DVD and watch Surfer, Dude. Must be the cold weather making him wish it was summer. A film critical of what happened to the earth-child, soul surfer types of the sixties and early seventies and the fall of the Californian coast culture. Altogether a rather disturbing film with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as tragic weed-soaked aging surfers whose world was disappearing as they watched helplessly from a position of poverty and an inability to go with the new digital age of pretending for effect, where cash trumped the mystery and mythical wonder of the sea. A sad message of what has now come to pass in California.

  • I watch a lot of movies via iPlayer, ITV X etc.

    Recommendations:

Escape Room, Escape Room:Tournament Of Champions, The Relic, all horrors and on the iPlayer.

Freaky on All4 is a comedy horror and is well worth the watch just to see Vince Vaughn being a high school girl in a pyschopathic mans body.

The funniest movie I have seen recently is Grimsby with Sacha Baron Cohen and Mark Strong. It is a gross out delight.
