The forgotten war & probably the one that is most important to the UK & NATO
-
Indeed.
Essentially, things have gone into a stalemate, although that doesn't mean anything has happened, far from it.
The latest news is that Putin sacked one of his generals earlier this week, due to the increasing bridgehead that the Ukrainians have formed across the Dnipro river.
Ukrainians sources are saying that the replacement general was killed in one of their strikes yesterday, but that has not been conformed yet by the Russians.

A report on Sky said a consignment of artillery shells which had been destined for Ukraine was diverted to Israel
Meanwhile North Korea is supplying Russia with ammunition

He won’t have any choice if Trump wins next year.
Putin won’t be interested until he sees the result of the election next year

Ukraine has been something of a poison pill for Trump. Biden is allegedly the Ukraine expert and what a total clusterfuck he’s made of it.
None of this would have happened with Trump in the Oval Office.

Well, the Donald reckons that Putin wouldn't have invaded Ukraine in the first place if he were still in charge.

Good. And let's not forget what happened last year. Putin spoke about peace and then launched missiles.
Any future attempt by the Russians to call for a ceasefire is just a cynical way to regroup and rearm and should be immediately disregarded by everyone. But you can imagine many of the weaklings on the continent falling for it.

And early next year, the American media have reported that Ukraine will get the "proper" variant of the ATACMS missiles, with the single large warhead and greater range. In other words, the Kerch Bridge busters.

Trump says a lot of things but like all politicians they are full of shit.

No that's what Trump says. He says a lot of things that aren't true

A little update about Ukraine, as it still remains totally absent from the news....:
- The Russians are still pouring thousands of men and machines at Avdiivka in the east of the country and gradually, bit by bit, they are making gains, but at terrible losses to them. Estimates suggest that Russia has lost 10k men in just this one attack.
- The Chinese have supplied two thousand all terrain buggies to Russia and these have now been seen on the battlefield. To put it another way, the Chinese Communist Party is blatantly helping Russia to invade a European country...
- The Ukrainians are gradually expanding their foothold across from the Dnipro river and several of the youtube channels that I follow reckon that the Russians are starting to evacuate the Kherson region.
The last time the Russians did a mass withdraw was from Kherson city and of course they then blew that dam. There is still that nuclear plant wired with explosives, so any potential celebrations of Ukraine's push across the river into the wider Kherson region over the coming weeks/months, should be tempered by that fact.

Putin is crazy mad enough to do anything, he is just throwing his troops some badly trained into a meat grinder

Sometime early in the New Year and almost certainly by the spring, Ukraine will get the fighter jets.
A training centre was opened in Romania today to train the Ukrainian pilots and along with more and better long range missiles in January, Ukraine may just have enough to turn the tide.
Putin is throwing thousands of men at Ukraine and he needs to be stopped soon, otherwise Ukraine will run out of fighters. It's estimated that Ukraine has 70k killed v 300k killed on the Russian side. But with a population of 120m, Russia can absorb those losses, Ukraine can't.
The wet, horrible weather has now reached Ukraine, turning all the trenches into mud. Utterly miserable and something out of WW1, but the good thing is that wet weather makes a lot of dirt tracks/roads unpassable for Russian vehicles and the crappy weather brings fog, which is just what the Ukrainians need if they are ultimately to cross the Dnipro River en masse. I reckon they'll be able to do it by Christmas, but we'll see.

Maybe Ukraine should hire some mercenaries…

They're there already, OB. Both the official ones and non-official ones.

I want peace between Russia and Ukraine. I beg for peace all over the Earth. Russia, the USA, Ukraine, the European Union, Africa, India, Brazil, China, Japan, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Peru, and Argentina must have peace.

Never going to happen. We need war, conflict and famine to keep the population in check. It’s just part of nature, the strong picking off the weak. It has always happened.
