Wi-Fi devices set to become object sensors by 2024 under planned 802.11bf standard
"When 802.11bf will be finalized and introduced as an IEEE standard in September 2024, Wi-Fi will cease to be a communication-only standard and will legitimately become a full-fledged sensing paradigm," explains Francesco Restuccia, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at Northeastern University, in a paper summarizing the state of the Wi-Fi Sensing project (SENS) currently being developed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
SENS is envisioned as a way for devices capable of sending and receiving wireless data to use Wi-Fi signal interference differences to measure the range, velocity, direction, motion, presence, and proximity of people and objects.
It may come as no surprise that the security and privacy considerations of Wi-Fi-based sensing have not received much attention.
Monitoring on an even greater scale that will involve monitoring everyone even in their own homes while having a tom tit....basically anywhere and everywhere we go. There will be no escape accept in a lead box.
5G and Wifi leaders plan integration of networks for indoor coverage
Future 5G networks could be integrated with private Wifi networks, following work by two major wireless organisations.
The benefit to 5G network operators will be that services could be extended into buildings and integrated with secure private networks that are built to the new Wifi 6 standard.
The two organisations behind this move are the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), which represents the Wifi industry, and the Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) Alliance, which represents mobile network operators.
“Typically Wifi is much more cost efficient for indoor coverage,” Tiago Rodrigues (pictured), the WBA general manager, told Capacity, “especially for third-party owners of a property.”
This will take the tracking of movements over radio waves to a whole new level. Then combine this with some of MIT's latest research and futuristic porn could mean stolen / leaked footage watching a bunch of coloured blobs on porn hub dancing together at home. LOL Maybe watching children sleeping will become some kind of fetish. If not by some sicko's that have hacked into the systems then it could be the sicko that works for the telecoms and government agencies. Then again...that goes on already with the amount IOT nanny cams etc freely open for all to see on the net. This tech could take it to a whole new level though.
Your Wi-Fi router could be used to watch you breathe and monitor your heartbeat
And if you was ever wondering how they will gather the evidence that you had racist or some other thoughts that go against the political agenda then they have it here with future tech.
Scientists Can Use WiFi To Read Your Emotions
A good deal of attention is being given to emotion detection systems that use machine learning algorithms and deep learning networks to identify the emotion a person is experiencing from their facial expressions, the words they use and the way their voice sounds. Many of these systems are remarkably successful but they are somewhat limited by the necessity for people to either speak while experiencing an emotion or show that emotion on their face.
Emotions that are not reflected in facial expressions or speech remain hidden. Now, a research group at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) has built a system called EQ-Radio that can identify emotions using radio signals from a wireless router whether or not a person is speaking or showing their emotions with facial expressions.
Worse still is even if you do not own any of the latest tech it can still get you via your neighbours and other local equipment in the vicinity that have been updated. Maybe even in parked vans for mobile use or in more rural areas simply the 5G box's that will appear everywhere. Blimey the BBC could actually have real TV detector vans that work. The 5G devices could look like a bird box on a tree in some woods to camouflage and blend in with the surrounding environment or anything. They could even beam the signal up to a satellite onto a much wider integrated network. They will for sure be in abundance in cities, built into billboards and other advertising spaces, on traffic lights and other kinds of street furniture. Then tie all that into the cellular mobile networks. No more triangulation required. The resolution will be good enough to monitor movements less than a centimetre away so they could even see what keys you hitting on a keyboard. We can say goodbye to passwords. Imagine if this tech 'not if' it's when this tech gets into the hands of bad actors or criminals.
This will be the end of any democracy and freedoms worldwide. We could all eventually be manipulated into the Borg. We will all be assimilated. Those born into the tech will know no different so wont see the consequences and think how much better life could be, especially if more history is eradicated along with more brainwashing via the education systems. Very much like how the younger generation and the stupid in society have adapted to walking around with a mobile tracking device. And those that support the tech have something to selfishly gain personally and are not concerned or even looking out for the greater good of the human race and the planet. Is this what we call evolution.
Scary times ahead and that's before we even begin to tackle the issues of global warming which tech is the biggest contributor too. The general public don't see it because it's out of sight powering data centres around the world. We will need even more coal to power all these networks. It wont only be the hills of West Virginia being raped but it will also be the supplies from Russia in places like north Ukraine. Russia has huge supplies of gas and coal. Enough to power the world for years to come.
