IS ISRAEL ATTACKS AND RETALIATION JUSTIFIED & THE WIDER REGION

When making a post, please ensure it complies with this site's Main Rules at all times.
  • Granted we don’t know what is being said behind closed doors but currently I see know path to any kind of peace

I support Isreal’s right to defend itself but international community needs to be working on what comes next & Isreal needs to be persuaded or pressurised into some concrete proposals.

When you look at the people in the the Israeli government there are clearly people who have no interest in the 2 state solution

The world cannot be defeatist, though, Truebrit. It's a difficult one to resolve, but we mustn't give up.

If it's not to be a two-state solution, then what? Integration could be the long term solution, but that is way off, if it ever happens at all. There are moderate Palestinians and there are moderate Israelis, but war hardens attitudes. First, we must establish the peace.

  • where and what land is going to constitute a Palestinian states formation. Are you aware of another country prepared to give up a portion of its lands for the Palestinians?

Because if this two state solution involves taking part of Jordan or Egypt or Lebanon without consent then nothing gets solved.

Likewise, the west Bank and gaza require travel through Israel to reach each other, so imo having a Palestinian state separated by Israel is a no go.

Any new Palestinian state needs also to be self reliant on water, power, food because wtf should Israel be responsible for maggots that want it gone.

Middle age is when your old classmates are so grey and wrinkled and bald they don't recognise you.

Historically I think Gaza was part of Egypt & the West Bank Jordan

I agree that it’s an odd look with the 2 not joined up

A tunnel has been suggested to join the 2 which would be a minimum of 23 miles long

I don’t know about the West Bank but apparently Gaza has no natural water supply

I imagine solar panels could be quite effective though

I’m not being defeatist , I see no end to this conflict, no doubt Isreal will beat Hamas in Gaza but then what ?

If Isreal stay in Gaza they will be an occupying army & history tells us that is no recipe for any lasting peace

  • True. When Mandela went everything collapsed into corruption and reversed racism, job reservation, neglect and violent crime. SA is a tragic case of revolutionary cadre cockups.

A question, if gaza was taken by Israel during the 8 day war, was it absolved into Israel?

If the answer is yes then those living there fall under Israeli rule ultimately, if no then Israel has no responsibility for supplying water, power or food. There may be some arguments for that in the occupied North. As in Cyprus, Turkey has responsibility for the North that it annexed, but not the Southend visa versa.

I know not if it's true, but it was said that Mandela did very little to alleviate the plight of the townships. He was soft on the corrupt ones (winnie as an eg) and not ultimately the messiah it was hoped he'd be, is that true?

Isreal drove all the way across the Sinai peninsula to the Suez Canal during the 6 day war

They also took the West Bank & the Golan heights both of which they still control

They handed most of the Sinai back to Egypt in 1982

Any 2 state solution will need a lot of international aid to get it going but ultimately a Palestinian state would have to stand on its own 2 feet

  • Labour in chaos as Starmer's top team QUIT over refusal to back Gaza ceasefire
SIR Keir Starmer endured a frontbench mutiny last night as  eight members of his top team quit over his refusal to back a ceasefire in Gaza. Shadow Ministers…

Unless Hamas agree to a ceasefire it's a non-starter. The left don't seem to understand that.

History is much like an Endless Waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever.

  • Nor do they seem to have grasped that if there were a ceasefire, Hamas would use it to reposition themselves and cause more mayhem. It would only prolong the operation in the end.

Hamas must be rooted out as a matter of priority.

I think so as well, the sooner Hamas is wiped off the face of the earth the better

I can't tell you what he actually did or did not do as I don't know. I do know that he is considered by many to be a kind of messiah. They become untouchable and then they become saints and he is invoked whenever anything goes wrong. He is basically considered to be the light of freedom to millions, which he was. What happened after him is a story of chaos, corruption and despair, huge amounts of illegal immigration, serious murder rate, horrific crime and downgraded everything, plus racism reversed.

No one cares anymore. Everyone hates whites so if you are white here, you will be derived of your job and you can't have a business, or a farm now, if you don't have a black partner, whether you want a partner or need one. Whites are being pushed to the edge of survival in many cases so the idea that we are all immensely wealthy, privileged and crushing the natives is utter crap. None of my British or Scandinavian forebears were rich, slave owners or highly educated. They worked on farms and in fish canning factories. My English great grandfather was a railway fireman. My great grandmother was a laundress. This lie has run its course, now it's just a given and that given is not true. Nothing one can do as the new generations are indoctrinated to hate whites. It is a mad situation and possibly the first time in history that people have turned on their own kind so completely, but it's happening.

One good thing is that neither the Israelis nor the Palestinians are doing this sort of thing to themselves. What whites are doing to themselves is insane.

  • I don't see the Palestinians as "savages", nor do I think that being Muslim is any reason to add this to the appellation.

Are you joking, this is all about religion. Hamas want to destroy every Jew on the planet, and Hamas are the unofficial army of the Palestians, and have their full support.

The intelligent are being oppressed so the stupid don't get offended

  • Lebanon who be crazy to start a war against Israel

It’s economy is down the Swanee

Even for the sake of Iranian money the cost to its people would be great .

Israel will have no truck in bombing them and rightly so

I doubt Hezbollah care anymore about the civilians in Lebanon the Hamas do about civilians in Gaza

Their only calculation will be whether they can successfully resist the IDF

If they did do that calculation correctly, they would step back.
