    No, the problem is that civil servants are deliberately putting problems in the way and even doing the opposite of what they were told to do, such as when they were instructed NOT to create an increased number of equality and diversity managers and to put the money into the front line instead.

    Civil servants are there to assist the government with the implementation of its policies, not to actively work against them by putting problems in the way.

    Because the pre existing law has instructed the Civil Service to act on significant issues related to diversity and to use best practice. Stephen (Pinocchio) Barclay may think a minister can just say 'do this' but he and the Civil Servants have to act within the law.

    I think you read to much into some of the comments made on here!

    All the NHS has to do is to get a specialist in to write up some handbooks to clarify staff responsibilities under the law, inculcate that to managers on induction and make it their responsibility to ensure compliance. Job done.

    Instead, they appoint all these diversity and equality obsessives, pay the extremist organisation Stonewall to sex it all up, and then drill down to see if they can make it all even more extreme.

    It’s total madness.

    In the latest absurd drill down, NHS workers are being asked to complete a dystopian LGBTQIA survey asking if they identified as “greyromantic”, “abrosexual” or “endosex”. I mean, Steve, do you really support this perversity? What’s it to do with medicine, and anyway, who cares?

  • I was obliged to complete DEI internet module, as part of my continuance "progressive" training.

    I had to read and select the answers to a number of scenarios -

    None included English, heterosexual males. All dealt with Bi sexuals - gender - and that I should be fully aware.

    I chose NOT to complete it. I handed in my resignation and told them why.
