  • LOL Ealing Hospital, say no more. I spent just over two weeks on the orthopaedic ward there as it was the nearest hospital to where I broke my femur the second time. I have to say Ealing is the worst hospital I have been in. It's like a mental asylum. One of many things I did experience while there was a dementia patient that had wet themselves in the hospital gown and dragging themselves along the floor on the main corridor of the ward where the nurses station is. I told the nurses and they where too busy to do anything about it and said she's regular and they are aware and to ignore her. A fucking disgrace and that was decades ago.

Not a bad article that but I wish he told us the time of the initial accident and when he first got to the hospital. I can relate to a lot of what he says in that article. It's like doing the lottery the NHS. I have had both good and bad experiences and it very much depends on the hospital and how busy they are.

  • His basic gripe is lack of communication and that is something I have experienced too with the NHS.

They need to learn to talk to each other and their patients. Very basic skills. At least he got sorted out in the end, when he was sent home and then told to go to a different hospital.

  • Yep I know that one too and it's also the back and forth communication between GP's and hospitals. And he's right about the screwed up computer system but what do you expect when they use Windows ;) Someone made a lot of money creating that new software and database for them and it's screwed. Not only is their hardware and systems old and insecure, though they have updated Windows after getting ransomware, not that it will stop the threats but has tightened things up a little. Human error will be their weakest point and weak passwords etc written down on post-it notes stuck to a screen in the nurses station etc. I opted out of that new database for privacy and lack of trust issues when it was first created which was my right and informed my GP. I don't care if paramedics don't have all my details at the scene of an accident or A&E. They can go old school and diagnose me.

  • I don't where to start really. The single biggest problem with the NHS is there are too many people using it. Through mass immigration our population has grown to fast, and because of the NET financial contributions immigration offers we can't afford to build the infrastructure to support the population. Unfortunately it's only the REFORM party who will talk about such issues, then they get derided by other parties for daring mention it. We have this crazy education system where kids can spend three years at university studying pointless subjects, but at the same time we have thousands of vacancies for skilled jobs we can't fill. In China kids have to study the subjects required to fill the jobs that need doing. It's not rocket science really, is it? Anyway, I'm off on a tangent here. The NHS receives the second highest funding per capita of any public health service, so despite what the other political parties may say, funding isn't the issue. Of course, the wastage is dreadful, and spending money on diversity teams is a great example.

In brief, we don't have enough doctors, dentists and nurses because our youth are busy studying David Beckham, and the NHS wastes money on too many management and other pointless jobs. It would be so nice if the government of the day stopped just talking about it and actually did something. Personally I am fed up with being told how marvellous our NHS is, when from personal experience I have it to be useless

The intelligent are being oppressed so the stupid don't get offended

  • The NHS is not useless, it's got problems but it foes what it's intended if allowed to do so.

The hospital I had my operation in on Sept 1st is a superb hospital, renowned for excellence. The building doesn't fit the billing , its rather dated, needs enlarging and upgrading. The medical services were great, staff knowledgeable and helpful. But the food was anything but healthy and shit.

Too many geriatrics, requiring geriatric care combined with genuine medical needs, this I believe is a countrywide problem. I couldn't wait to get home.

I worked nhs security, restraint patients, drunks, druggies and tossers , the system is way to soft on them. The Ross Kemp series where he went there showed that big style.

Instead of slagging it off try suggesting ways of improving it. TO THE ROGHT PEOPLE which we're not. We will ALL need it, so people need to stop abusing it. Fuck them off when the present at a&e with shite. Let's lighten the load, improve our lot and slide forward.

Do unto others as they would do unto you, then f**k off before the Police get there. :saint:

  • Just over 10 years I collapsed at home with really painful stabbing pains in my left side wife was at work so I rang for an ambulance as I could not stand up , I was told to get myself to Hospital told to call a cab asked if I had a car and could drive myself to hospital.

So I rang the wife she left work picked me up off the kitchen floor and bundled me into her car to A&E within 10 mins I was examined and X Rayed Kidney Stones pumped full of morphine , then I was told we don't do renal at this hospital we will have to transfer you to the Royal Free, no problem said I.

6 hours later I was in the Royal Free and away with the fairies , the ward was old and filthy , Consultant will see you in the morning more morphine and saline drip two days later Consultant arrived, your Kidney Stones are too large to come out naturally so we will go in this afternoon and take them out .

Woke up back in the Ward , sorry we could not do the op we ran out of time, we are going to send you home with pain killers and we hope to do the Op later you may have to wait for about five to six months

Sod that said I politely I have private medical insurance I will get it done quicker and off I went , three days later examined by a Consultant MRI Scan at the hospital my wife works , two weeks later Ultra Sound to break the stones up , then in they went to hoover up the shrapnel , back to work the following day.

The problem the NHS is they cannot keep up with the demand from an increasing population , plus it is very inefficient patients not keeping appointments is another serious problem

  • Thanks for that Fred, I'm not advocating that the NHS is all sweetness and light, it's not.

Their management are shite, doctors are inundated with shite, the buildings in alot of cases are shite. The food is shite, but non of all that applies to all doctors, all managers, all hospitals but its gotta be owned up to.

There is a problem in what I said about turning people away and that is a genuine fear of getting it wrong. We live in times where they'll charge you with manslaughter as soon as look at you, sue your hide to within a penny of destitution and castigate you on every media site station and billboard from lands end to John o'groats.

Until we address alot of these issues we will get much in the way of genuine improvements.

It was always said cops close ranks if challenged, doctors rarely go against another doctor, managers close ranks constantly its human nature.

If it could be proven then those that close ranks should get butt fucked too, but we all know it'll never happen.

Do unto others as they would do unto you, then f**k off before the Police get there. :saint:

  • The NHS does the best in can IMHO and yes the NHS is sued on a regular basis they are human and we humans make mistakes , it needs a complete shake up money alone will not cure its problems

  • I think this may sound a little revolutionary, but perhaps there would be more medical staff around if they didn’t have to spend their time away on equality and diversity courses.

  • My experiences are very different. Very hard to see a doctor, and when I do I can't understand a bloody word they say. Seeing a specialist is almost impossible where I live, and ambulances struggle to turn up the same day

The intelligent are being oppressed so the stupid don't get offended

Or working either in a private hospital or on the private ward in the same hospital.

  • Qualified Nursing Staff and Consultant Surgeons are free to work in the NHS and in Private Hospitals in their spare time , or full time

  • Or working either in a private hospital or on the private ward in the same hospital.

Give them the choice and they’d all go for the private care, since that’s where the big remuneration lies.

they tend to be older seasoned Consultants that work full time in the Private Hospitals

  • NHS body to spend £100k on anti-racism consultant
EXCLUSIVE: Critics have slammed the six-figure spend as 'woke waste' that would be better spent on patient care, but NHS body says it needs to be 'anti-racist'…

The NHS management desperately need to be overhauled. When will any government tackle this ridiculous situation?

  • Typical Leftie response don't like the message so shoot the messenger.

I know exactly who reads the papers. The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country. The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country. The Times is read by people who actually do run the country. The Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country. The Financial Times is read by people who own the country. The Morning Star is read by the people who think the country should be run by another country. And the Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is.

    :)

“Typical leftie response” as usual you deliberately ignored the point

I wish Politicians would stop using the NHS to score points off each other, money alone will not fix its problems it needs to be run better than it is now , depending where you live in the UK depends how good your local NHS Trust is some are better than others, the NHS in Wales is very badly run to say the least, Scotland not much better.

It really does need a complete overhaul IMHO, more efficiency if patients fail to turn up for appointments or surgery without a good reason fine them , same for GP appointments, if changes are not made it will never able to keep pace with the growing population
