OECD upgrades UK growth again

  • Philip Hammond received a boost ahead of his first Budget on Wednesday as a top think-tank raised its forecast for UK growth this year by more than any other major economy.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) continued to backtrack on warnings of an immediate Brexit collapse as it upgraded its 2017 growth forecast to 1.6pc, up from a projection of 1.2pc in November.

This represents the second upgrade by the Paris-based institution in just four months.

I have no doubt that this little bit of positive news will have the remainers crying in their beer as they try to pour yet more cold water on our future outside the EU. They must be getting really desperate by now. ;)
