TWD’s streaming rights belong to Disney, BTW. It’s already on Star in countries like Belgium, the Netherlands and Portugal.

The Grinder, Gang Related and Rush are also currently showing on Fox.
I watched more shows on this channel than I did on Sky One, so I will miss it. One step closer to getting a subscription to Disney+ for me!
It seems to me that the trend towards the closing of linear channels may have begun, although I thought originally that this process would not start before 2023/4.
Once they start to go in greater numbers, they will fall like dominos.
It is only a matter of time now before Sky, Virgin Media and BT start offering packages of streamers instead of linear channels. Freeview and Freesat will probably end up going completely on demand, offering the free players to their audiences. The broadband rollout across the country will have to happen first, of course.
Disney are closing 18 of their 22 linear channels in Southeast Asia, so it seems the UK is going the same way. As a Disney+ subscriber since day 1, this’ll only be of benefit to me.

I agree that it's not the fault of the pay TV companies that Disney have decided to take off their channels and go it alone.
My fear is that the streaming services have been good value up until now, but as each content provider goes it alone it's all going to add up if people want to keep access to all the content. Prices have also started to creep up with Now TV & Netflix putting up prices.
In addition the pay TV companies will gradually lose channels and/or content, but their prices won't go down, quite the opposite.
Now with the launch of Star, Disney Plus’ general entertainment tile, the migration of Disney-owned material to Disney+ will accelerate even quicker!

Apparently, Sky have confirmed that Sky Cinema Disney is being renamed to Five Star Movies on New Year's Eve, before shutting permanently on 6/1/21. It's being speculated that it's capacity will be used to bring back Sky Premier +1 in HD.
